So many of you know that I am weird about a lot of things and lots of stuff gives me anxiety such as:
Going to the Mall at Night
Parking Garages
Shopping w/Kids
Waiting In Lines
But with these I can suck it up and just do it because I can control the situation.
Now here is a real Phobia that has manifested and it causing me sleepless nights, not wanting to go in my house, paralyzing fear, etc
Guess what it is? MICE!!!! In the 12 years I have been married we have never had them and now we do! How did we find this out?
Eric, Sydney & I were in bed and about 4am I hear: crinkle, crinkle, crinkle and I think it must be Eric moving.
So we are both hold very still and again crinkle, crinkle, crinkle.
I jump to the middle of the bed and Eric says "You heard that right? Its a mouse right? What are you gonna do?"
I tell him "I'm grabbing my pillow and blanket and getting the hell out of here so grab Sydney and let's go!" So we spent the night in Sydney's bunkbeds and I wouldn't call it sleeping.
We bought sticky traps...worthless...they ran right through them! We bought snap traps with Peanut Buand they are doing the trick.
We have caught 4....ewwwwwwwwww!
I didn't realize until now how deathly afraid I am of mice....its not a good feeling.
I am in constant fear of one running out from somewhere in the house. I have to step lightly everywhere I go in the house.
I can't sleep because we have caught 2 under our bed! DOUBLE EWWWWWWW!
I am ready to move...
We have santized the house and I think I am OCD now with the cleaning!
Maybe I am ready for a cat...an outside cat of course!
This is all very disturbing to me...BUT
I am enjoying this Holiday Season more than I have in the past...I am even listening to a lot of Christmas Music! I will even take my kids to see Despereaux but it will NOT change my opinion of mice or make me hate them less!
There is the story that many of you have wanted me to tell...I need to go back to living in denial...it was safer that way!

Your taking the first step in dealing with your phobia by talking about it! Honestly, that's a funny story, but I too, would freak out. I hope they are all dead now. Can we go to Despereaux with you? My kids want to see it so bad. Let us know when you are going.
Maybe you should try cleaning your house!!!!
