Holla to the Hunt!

I volunteered (what? me volunteer? Never!?!) to help this year with the Triathalon at Hunter's school. My assumption was that this was just a fun little, end of the year, exercise...um no! Only about 8 parents out of the 40 that were there actually volunteered to help. The rest were there with Dads and Grandparents to cheer on their little athletes during the highly competitive TMC Triathalon. I pawned off my volunteer post on another Mom so I could watch and guess what? That Hunt and his friend Trevan took 1st place out of the 3rd Grade (which is over 150 3rd graders). Trev did the running, Hunt did the biking and they did the obstacle course together. I guess all those hours of soccer conditioning/practice paid off! That My Baby!

Rock On...

Tonight my H Man was introduced to one of the greatest 80's bands...Def Leppard! Thanks to Dancing with the Stars he heard "Pour Some Sugar on Me" and loved it! His cousin Tom will be sooooo happy! There is a little Def Leppard on the music player just to take ya back to Junior High! (maybe High School for some of you LOL!)

Boise 2008

We spent this last weekend in Boise, ID at a soccer tournament for H. His team did so awesome and they play with only 7 players in an 8 vs 8 tournament! They ended up taking 3rd place in the tournament and H even made a trip to the medical tent...oh the drama! This is the first slide show I've done and it is hard to take pictures during a soccer game because the boys don't hold still & smile for the pictures! LOL!

I Luv Boy's

This is my "boy" and I can totally relate to the following....

The following came from an anonymous Mother in Austin, Texas..
Things I've learned from my Boys (honest and not kidding):
1.) A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill a 2000 sq.ft. house 4 inches deep.

2.) If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with roller blades, they can ignite.

3.) A 3-year old Boy's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant.

4.) If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate a 42 pound boy wearing Batman underwear and a Superman cape. It is strong enough, however, if tied to a paint can, to Spread paint on all four walls of a 20 x 20 ft. room.

5.) You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on. When using a ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way.

6.) The glass in windows (even double-pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan.

7.) When you hear the toilet flush and the words "uh oh", it's already too late.

8.) Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it.

9.) A six-year old Boy can start a fire with a flint rock even though a 36-year old Man says they can only do it in the movies.

10.) Certain Lego's will pass through the digestive tract of a 4-year old Boy.

11.) Play dough and microwave should not be used in the same sentence.

12.) Super glue is forever.

13.) No matter how much Jell-O you put in a swimming Pool, you still can't walk on water.

14.) Pool filters do not like Jell-O.

15.) VCR's do not eject "PB &J" sandwiches even though TV commercials show they do.

16.) Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.

17.) Marbles in gas tanks make lots of noise when driving.

18.) You probably DO NOT want to know what that odor is.

19.) Always look in the oven before you turn it on; plastic toys do not like ovens.

20.) The fire department in Austin, TX has a 5-minute response time.

21.) The spin cycle on the washing machine does not make earthworms dizzy.

22.) It will, however, make cats dizzy.

23.) Cats throw up twice their body weight when dizzy.

24.) 80% of Men who read this will try mixing the Clorox and brake fluid.
Women will pass this on to almost all of their friends, with or without kids.

a) For those with no children - this is totally hysterical!

b) For those who already have children past this age, this is hilarious.

c) For those who have children this age, this is not funny.

d) For those who have children nearing this age, this is a warning.

e) For those who have not yet had children, this is birth control.

Fine To Be 9

It might have been "Great to be 8" but it is "Fine to be 9" this year! We celebrated H's 9th Birthday beginning with the Hannah Montana/Jonas Brothers concert last Friday. On Wednesday we went to Lagoon on his real birthday with lunch at Winger's. We then picked up E and went to Ruby River for dinner. Quite a celebration!

Down & Derby

We had our official welcome to the world of Pine Wood Derby's. I will have to say I was unimpressed with the whole process. It seems like a bunch of overly competitive Dad's and the track we used was some white trash/ghetto track being held up by a drawer. It was not at all the experience I had remembered from going with my Dad and 2 brothers. The kid that won was only 5 years old and not even a scout! What a joke. Despite all this props to H for winning first place for the "best looking car" & to me that is always the most important...looking good!

Soccer....

Congrats goes out to H for making the Ogden FC Boys Black team. He tried out in the spring and has played in a tournament and some scrimmages with his team. This picture is from his tournament in Herriman. You can check out his team & stats at http://www.ogdenfc.com/. Way to go H! (I know what you are all thinking and your right $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!) I may need to get a second job to pay for all the activities!

From Kindergarten to 3rd Grade...

Kindergarten 2004

1st Grade 2005

2nd Grade 2006

3rd Grade 2007

H started 3rd grade last Monday...what can I say? My little boy is all growed up!

He is definitely a more mature kid...maybe it's the shaggy hair! He is very excited for school but doesn't want to show it. S starts tomorrow!

My Little Beckham!

I am not the greatest mom at taking pictures of my kids at various activities but I did manage a couple of pictures at H's last comp soccer game of the season. His team did very well this season and were the indoor champion's for 2 session in the winter! I am very proud of what a good player H has become. I will have to overlook the yellow card he got this season and work on better sportsmanship on his new team...he is now on OFC (Ogden Football Club) for those who don't know LOL. He is very excited for his new team and I will hopefully get better with the pictures.

Baptism Pic's

I finally loaded the Baptism pics on my computer. Here are a couple from H's special day. He didn't want any pictures so we are lucky to have these!
